When you are invited to a house party you always feel the need to turn up with a bottle of bubbly in your hand and it is usual a bottle of wine and the host ends up with a fridge full of the stuff. I have been invited to one next week and thought it would be good to find something different so i was pretty amazed when i come across Scorpion Vodka.

I am sooooo excited that i have come across this and can’t wait to get it ordered!

So get ready for this if you buy Scorpion Vodka it is exactly what the description says a real, whooping sized scorpion in a bottle of vodka. The best is to come the scorpion is specially bred and can be eaten including the tail of the beast. Ok gross i know but after a few glasses of the stuff i am sure that the joker of the party will want to impress and will eat the scorpion.

I really can’t wait to turn up at the party with a bottle of scorpion vodka in my hand and watch everyone’s face turn to horror when they see what’s hiding in there!

If you have tried scorpion vodka before PLEASE let me know and if you have experienced the taste of the scorpion itself even better???

I am a huge fan of wine, i drink rose on a night out, white wine for a civilised meal and red on a Sunday with my Sunday roast.

One thing i love is trying different types of wine i never go for the same brand as there are hundreds out there so why always drink the same one? There has been some occasions though where i have had a glass of the most tastiest wine and had no idea where it came from with much regret!

Recently I have started to do a bit of research myself on French wines. I thought it was a must-do as I get through so many bottles a week myself and was pretty intrigued.

Starting off with the sweet white wine:

In order to get sweet wine at the end they leave the grapes longer before picking them so that they are dryer (over ripe) and there is more sugar in them. The grapes used are “Chenin blanc”. It’s quite simple really; it’s all to do with the right timing.  A nice sweet wine that you can get in France in the Loire Valley is the “Coteaux du Layon”. This wine is perfect with a dessert or as an “aperitif”. Some good vintages for this wine are: 1989, 1995, 1997, 2003 and 2005.

The problem with rosé is that unless you know your wine you don’t know if it’s sweet or dry. There are a few ways of making rosé wines but a popular one is to leave the grape skin on whilst the grapes are being crushed but then filtering them before fermentation.

Just in case you didn’t know, there is a rumour going round that making rosé by mixing red and white is not going to be allowed in the EU, why, why, why?????

It’s Friday and i am sooo excited that the week is nearly over and it is now time to play! My taste buds do like to sample a drink or two on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

For tonight i am only having a couple so i have bought 3 bottles of wine from Sainsbury’s for £10.00…really that’s how cheap the wine is in there at the moment!

Tomorrow is the night that i am really looking forward for as i have my drinking partner in crime coming over so in true tradition we will be mixing cocktails to get the night started. As the weather is meant to be sunny there is nothing more refreshing than a Sex On The Beach cocktail and its easy to make and doesn’t take much to perfect the drink.

See below for how to make the most delish cocktail:

Ingredients –

Vodka
Peach schnapps
Cranberry juice
Grapefruit juice
Orange slice
Crushed Ice

Make sure you also have a highball glass and pink straws and a mini straw umbrella!

Now the fun part…firstly fill the glass with crushed ice then pour the vodka and peach schnapps into the glass until you get halfway (that’s my measurements anyway you might want to make it weaker!) then pour in the cranberry juice and finish with the grapefruit juice and stir! To finish off drop in the orange slice and don’t forget the umbrella and straw!

Enjoy!!!
